ISU’s Emerging Writers Series

Led by ISU’s Creative Writing MFA Program, ​​Dog-Eared Books will be hosting an evening once a month where writers from the program read some of their work!

It's one of the MFA program’s biggest events located outside of campus which aims to connect ISU writers with the greater Ames community.

Throughout the month of October, come see acrylic paintings at our store by Rolland artist Elsa Stutzman!

The name of each painting, and sometimes the art itself, is inspired by the book Elsa was reading during the time it was made.

Central Iowa’s Author Circle

CIAC, pronounced “kayak,” is a free, workshop-structured writing group for serious writers whose final goal is publication.

With a focus on creative fiction and creative nonfiction, writers of any experience level are welcome.
