Dog-Eared Books has curated a subscription every romance reader will want to be part of. Each month our Love Unleashed curator is reading dozens of books to decide which one we should send to your doorstep. Each first package arrives with a custom reading journal and sticker sheet for you to track your books. Every month you’ll receive a custom sticker sheet for that month’s pick. Almost every month, we’ve been able to send subscribers signed copies too! Bookseller Katie, also works to offer a Zoom book club WITH the author. Plus, you’ll want to join the Love Unleashed Facebook group, where members can chat about the current pick or any of their favorite reads! Meet Bookseller Katie, the Love Unleashed Curator!

As a bookseller at Dog-Eared Books and the curator for Love Unleashed, I have the incredibly difficult job of reading romance novels for a living. (Yes, feel free to be jealous.) While I read across almost all genres, my first love will always be romance. It all started with Anne of Green Gables—first the books, then the miniseries, and then I promptly graduated to my mom’s stash of Judith McNaughts. (Because once you’ve sobbed over Anne and Gilbert, you’re ready for a full-blown historical romance.)

Every month, I read between 10-15 romance ARCs, hunting for the perfect book to unleash on our subscribers. My selection process? Scientific and foolproof. Step one: Turn directly to the first sex scene. (This is my superpower.) If it doesn’t read authentic and hot, moving on. Step two: Ensure there’s a guaranteed happily ever after—because if I wanted heartbreak, I’d watch the news. Step three: Confirm at least three spicy scenes because, let’s be honest, even though Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy’s hand touching is great, sometimes you want and deserve more.

I aim to diversify the characters and sub-genres each month, keeping things fresh and steamy. Sometimes I pick new releases by well-known authors that I know will have readers swooning, and other times I dig up hidden gems from self-published, or lesser known authors who deserve the spotlight. Either way, every book I choose is one I’m excited to put into your hands.

Love Unleashed is about delivering romance that makes you laugh, swoon, and maybe blush a little too hard in public. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
